giving thanks

alice-thanksgiving

My first married Thanksgiving.  We are staying home by ourselves and I’m cooking somewhat of a mini-replica of what normal people are probably having.  I’m roasting a small turkey breast and making broccolli and sweet potatoes, and we’ll have boxed stuffing.  I bought refrigerated cookie dough to make for dessert.  That’s our low-key, nobody-to-impress, easygoing Thanksgiving.  And for that I am thankful.

As I wait for the bird to cook, Josh will play video games and I will catch up on blogs and maybe work on some Christmas crafts.  I also have a bunch of magazines waiting to be read, and Alice needs to be brushed and Ella needs to be furminated.  The National Dog Show starts at noon.  But first, I must go take a shower, because even I can’t sit around the house all day with bed hair, at least not on a holiday.

I’m thankful for everyone who visits my little piece of blogland, and I wish you all a happy Thanksgiving, wherever you are and whatever you do.  I hope you all eat as much as you want and don’t count the calories.  I hope everyone who is hungry will get a meal.

I’m thankful for all I have, and especially all the wonderful people and animals who make life worth living.  I’m also thankful to all the turkeys who gave their lives to feed us.

Life is good. :)
