This is Woody, my best friend’s dachshund. He’s been sick lately and the vet is worried. He goes in again tomorrow to get fluids, which he’s been getting off and on for the past couple of weeks.
My friend (a stranger to this blog) is distraught, as this is her baby. He’s been with her through a lot, including a divorce and several moves and job changes.
I just thought I’d ask all my blogging friends here to please say a prayer, send some positive energy, even just think good thoughts about him. Whatever you do. I am hoping with all my heart that he pulls through this. He’s ten years old, so hopefully he can have some good years ahead of him.

AWWW that totally made me sad
I got a special spot in my heart for animals so, I will definately be praying for him. Hope he makes it. Now, you will have to keep us updated on his health.
Woody is adorable! I LOVE daschunds (how do even spell the word??)
I am sending good vibes your way Woody! I’m also sending you a virtual ear ruffle.
Sending love and healing to sweet Woody.
what is it with dogs right now? My best friend had to have her sheltie put down a few months ago and now her lab has a tumor
this is the sad sad part about owning pets. Sending prayers , good thoughts etc.
I have a special place in my heart for little sweet Woody. I am praying for him and his sweet mommy and daddy.
Oh, I’m all over this one. You better believe it. He’s precious and will be in my thoughts and prayers.
The bond between owner and pet is soooooo, intense- sometimes, the dog feels like your “everything”.
OMG DACHSUND!
I am sending Woody some major positive vibes BP.
Woody’s on my mind tonight (which is already this morning).
Awww poor Woody! I’ll be praying for him and his Mummy and Daddy.
Awww, passionate animal lover here, just saved a piglet and am hand rearing her. It’s so upsetting when our furry friends are unwell.
Here’s hoping and praying Woody pulls through whatever is ailing him.
Awe, poor baby! I wish him well!
Oh, how did I miss this? Woody is definitely getting huge globs of prayers and thoughts from me. And so is his human partner. Please keep us posted, Birdpress. Can’t help but love that little face
do we know how he’s doing?
I just wanted to thank everyone who commented, and let you know that he’s supposed to stay at the vet’s until Saturday. She saw him today after work and he was okay but anxious to get out of the kennel. He had a cut on his nose from that. He was not eating for the vet but she got him to eat a little bit, so that’s good.
I’ll give updates on this post when I hear more.
Thanks again for everyone who was kind enough to be concerned, whether or not you commented.
I’m so hoping that beautiful dog is doing alright. Oh, what a face.
11/27/08 UPDATE:
Woody is doing better! His mom took him back in on Tuesday and got the test results yesterday showing that his liver levels are closer to normal, although still a little high. He has been eating and playing and hasn’t vomited in days. We’re still keeping our fingers crossed, but it looks like he’s on his way to a full recovery.
Thank you all for your support and well wishes! Happy Thanksgiving!
