don’t scrunch the dog while I’m PMS-ing or I’m gonna scream and rip out your arm hair

October 21, 2008 by birdpress

J thinks I’m a bitch for asking him not to scrunch Alice’s topknot when I’ve just groomed her.  He never even brushes her, and he has no idea what it takes to stretch dry and and then scissor her topknot to perfection.  I don’t care if he squashes it when he pets her, but when he reaches in and just scrunches it like that I just want to strangle him.  And then he acts like I’m being ridiculous.  How hard is it to just not scrunch her?  Huh?  Is it so hard?  AAAAARRGH!

stroke, don't scrunch

After all the work you go through to get it the way you like it J better stop his scrunching or he might just have to deal with the CANE!! Alice looks beautiful. How are the wedding plans going?

I need a cane! This picture was post-groom, pre-scrunching. Wedding plans are going well, thanks for asking. Only 10 days left!

Wow – she looks fabulous! Like, red-carpet ready! I can see why you wouldn’t want any scrunching going on. I love how those cuts make it look like there are little pom poms on the dogs. I wonder who ever came up with that idea in the first place. It is pretty creative when you think about it.

Thanks, Teeni! The poms were originally intended to protect a poodle’s joints in cold water. They were originally bred to retrieve water fowl. :) That’s the look you see in the shows, with the hip rosettes (poms) and everything. Now people just do all kinds of things with poodle’s fur, and there are even “creative grooming” classes where groomers basically sculpt their hair. On white poodles you can color them too. It’s pretty cool.

Aww, we all have those days. She still looks great! Not at all flattened or anything!

Thanks Emerald. I took the picture after we’d finished playing with her, but I don’t think he had scrunched her yet. :)

Just tell J. that every time he scrunches Alice’s topknot you’re gone “CRUNCH” his ! (A rolled-up newspaper makes a great cruncher on a shaved pate.) It won’t hurt, just makin’ a point is all…… :P

Sometimes a PMS girl’s gotta do what a PMS girl’s gotta do.

    Ha ha, good idea!

I hate when they do that. You ask nicely the first ten times and then when you yell they say you over react. Grrrr.

    Alice looks great!

    Exactly! I think J and J are a lot alike. ;)

OMG — only 10 days left? So exciting. I’m laughing at the idea of Red sneaking in a hidden scrunch while you’re not looking – lol.

I’d rip out your arm hair for laughing!
Only a week now until we leave for PA! I’m glad next week is only a 3-day work week for me. I’m anxious to get going!

ROFLMAO!!! Pulling arm hair is HARSH!…and I’m so totally going to use it! You are a hoot. So we can do a scrunch and run.

I’ll chase you down! No scrunching! :P

WOW I didn’t know so much work went into grooming a poodle. She sure is a beauty. J stop scrunching!

Thanks! :) It’s fun work though, for the most part.

When my foot is hanging off the bed, S always walks by and tickles my foot- men, can be so annoying sometimes….

He knows I HATE IT WHEN SOMEONE touches my extra micro sensitive ticklish piggies. Makes me want to crush him!

Yes, do tell J to stop scrunching! It’s a no scrunching zone!

Pull his arm hair really hard next time he tickles your piggies!
