Six Word Memoir

I was tagged here for a meme by my big brother at Postulates and Pastimes. I’ve seen this one go around but haven’t been tagged and haven’t wanted to steal it, so I am going to play now.

Rules are:

1. Write your own six word memoir.
2. Post it to your blog including a visual illustration if you would like.
3. Link to the person who tagged you in your post and to this original post  so we can track it as it travels across the blogsphere.
4. Tag 5 more blogs with links.
5. Don’t forget to leave a comment in the tagged blogs with an invitation to play.

My brother’s was: “Satisfactory goals, unsatisfactorily met, looking forward”. The original blogger based the meme idea on the story that Hemingway once bet ten dollars that he could sum up his life in six words. His words were:  ”For Sale: baby shoes, never worn.”

Reading those examples, I wasn’t sure what exactly qualified a “memoir”, since I always thought that meant more like a story, so I looked it up. The Free Dictionary says:

mem·oir (mmwär, -wôr) 

n.
1. An account of the personal experiences of an author.
2. An autobiography. Often used in the plural.
3. A biography or biographical sketch.
4. A report, especially on a scientific or scholarly topic.
5. The report of the proceedings of a learned society.

I know; leave it to me to complicate things! Anyway, I guess anything goes as long as it is true and personal, whether it is a summarization of your life story or a simple statement of a fact or belief. So here goes…
