My favorite four-legged client

May 12, 2008 by birdpress

Today I groomed my favorite dog ever!  She is a beautiful black standard poodle whose owner lovingly combs out her hair every day so that she never has any matts and she will let you do anything to her.  She stands so patiently on my table for the hours it takes me to hand-scissor her legs and head, and she absolutely adores me!

Okay, it’s my dog.  ;)

Here are some pics of her in the bath today.  I simply cannot resist doing this to her hair every time I shampoo it.  It never gets old, LOL.  She is so tolerant.

For comparison, here is what she normally looks like:

Wow! She got the poof going on!
    Love the mohawk too.

Poodles aren’t poodles without the poofs! My bf wants me to give her an actual mowhawk but I won’t give in!

Thanks. Wanna go to a dog groomer party? ;)

My good neighbors across the street have a black standard named Oscar. They trained him to an “invisable” fence. They said the fence quit functioning after about 3 months for some reason or other, but Oscar doesn’t know that, and it has been 3 years now. They never repaired the “fence”, but Oscar will not under any circustance cross the “barrier”. He is one smart Dog too! He will “talk-howl” ” I LOVE YOU”! A great Dog and wonderful neighbor!

Love the mohawk going on there! LOL!

 That’s so cute about the invisible fence! I think most dogs could be conditioned that way, but standard poodles in general are pretty smart. They are very trainable and real people-pleasers.

    apologies. wig=hair-do. a compliment!

my dog is very ragamuffiny. i’m impressed with the time and attention you put in to such an endeavor. i’d think it requires a great deal of patience and precision.

Oh, sorry! I didn’t know what that meant, LOL. Thank you for the nice compliment. Why is your dog ragamuffiny? (Love that word!)

That would be too cute if you did give her the mohawk, but I can understand you not wanting to. Such a well behaved dog.

I love the pic of the poodle with the mohawk! And what a beautiful dog! Do you ever give dogs actual mohawks that they leave the shop with? Believe it or not, I found an interesting site totally devoted to this… for a laugh, check it out at dogswithmohawks.com
